The Oriental Lion played the role of guardian for buildings in China. It is made of stone and is sometimes called Stone Lion. They can be found at the entrance of palaces, Imperial tombs, temples and homes of government officials and the wealthy. Originally, the lion did not exists in China, but were introduced after the Han dynasty as a result of cultural exchanges through the Silk Road. They had been offered as a tribute to the Han Empire, and since then lion appeared as auspicious feature in China.
Oriental Lion from The Palace Of Amber is designed from this Stone Lion. The lion is made of 925 silver and is holding a labradorite ball with its left leg. There is a silver bell just hanging in front of it's chest.
